Located between the parking lot and the museum, the Prehistosite des gorges du Verdon features reconstructions of ancient settlements in an environment evocative of prehistory, revealing the evolution of prehistoric man's way of life.

Rudimentary circle, tent, tepee, hut... When you visit the prehistoric village of Quinson, you'll be impressed by the diversity of habitats built by our ancestors: both in terms of organization of space and use of materials. Hominids had to adapt to the geography, the weather and the animals living in their territory.

As a result, lifestyles were not always the same in prehistoric times. As hunter-gatherers and nomads in the Palaeolithic, our ancestors built simple, temporary shelters. In the Neolithic, they became sedentary and agriculturalists. Their habitats were more solid than those of their forebears. Find out more when you visit Quinson.
