Presentation

The Bicaïl mill has been nestled in the heart of Haute Provence since the 17th century. Its original vocation has been preserved in an unspoilt environment of lavender and olive trees.

Since ancient times, the Alps of Haute Provence have been a territory traversed by transhumant herds, particularly of sheep. The herds and their shepherds, who came from the north and Italy to descend to the Crau plain, crossed the plateaux.

They left behind numerous sheepfolds, most of them built of dry stone, as well as bories.
