The Centre Jean Giono and the association les Amis de Jean Giono offer you a guided tour to discover the different offices of the writer and living rooms, sanctuary of his memories, his works.

The house:
Jean Giono left in his house a personal library including more than 8500 books, letters, photos, manuscripts, art objects and furniture. He settled in 1930 on the slopes of the Mont d'Or in the rise of the true riches where he will spend his whole life with his wife Elise and their two daughters. Acquired by the city in 2016, headquarters of the association Friends of Jean Giono, the Paraïs is listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments, labeled "heritage of the twentieth century" and "House of Illustrious".

The heritage garden :
The doors open onto a delightful terraced garden and a view of the historic center of Manosque, the scene of the writer's childhood. This garden regularly hosts cultural or artistic proposals around literature, art or Jean Giono's interests.

The store :
A store area is available to the public. Visitors will find exhibition catalogs, the works of Jean Giono, some of his films, postcards, stationery, posters, publications of the associations of the friends of Jean Giono and the friends of Lucien Jacques.

The tea room: Located on the terrace of the chestnut trees in the Paraïs, it is the ideal place to recharge your batteries, take a break, disconnect and enjoy the view. You will find at your disposal books and magazines dear to the writer, which can be consulted in the reading room or in the gardens. We also offer a menu of hot and cold beverages, provided by renowned Provencal companies. A thirst-quenching break to enhance your visit or simply enjoy a unique setting.
